"Freedom movements - from Black Lives Matter to the Umbrella Revolution to the Arab Spring - were everywhere. But where they fighting for the same thing? And why had they all sprung up across the world at the same time? I wanted to know what was driving the global wave of resistance, and if the very idea of freedom itself - with all its paradoxes - was at the heart of it."
